Here we're going to list the most Frequently Asked Questions and answer them. If you want to ask another question or get more information you can click on CONTACT and we will be happy to answer you.

Q: Do you teach couples who aren't getting married?
Q: You taught us to dance and we loved it. Now that we're married, will you still teach us?

A: Hey, hey, one at a time! The answer to both your questions is yes. Our instructors are trained in all the major dances, and can teach you to dance to anything. Fun date nights out at the club or your friends weddings, we've got you covered.

Q: We're not getting married until next year. Should we start now?

A: Yes, you want to look natural when you dance, not like a robot, so the sooner you start the better. You wouldn't wait until the day before the concert to learn the piano! Dancing is a skill, and it takes time for that skill to become automatic.

Q: Help! We're getting married this weekend, and I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DANCE!!

A: Oooo, that is cutting it close. Definitely, the more time you have, the better. But having said that, tremendous improvements can be made in your dancing after even just one lesson. You won't learn a lot of steps, but you'll look better than just rocking side to side for 4 minutes. Just don't expect the moon, the sun, and the stars, okay?

Q: We have music picked out, can you show us how to dance to it?

A: Of course. Sometimes people think that because we teach ballroom dancing, it only goes to "ballroom music," whatever that is. We can dance to ANYTHING, and we can teach you to dance to anything too.

Q: We don't have music picked out, should we wait until we do?

A: That would be a bad idea. You want to look and move smoothly and naturally when you dance. The longer you wait, the less time you have to do that. We can show how to dance using steps common to all dances, so no matter what song you end up dancing to, you'll use what we taught you.

Q: How long does it take to learn to dance?

A: Good question! It's different for everybody, and it depends on several things: how good you want to be, how much time you have, and your ability to learn. All of these questions can be answered on your first private lesson, which is free so you can get an 'estimate', with the help of your instructor. Once you have the answers to these questions then you can decide on a schedule that best fits you.

Q: What kind of shoes do I need?

A: I'm an advocate of practicing in what you're actually going to be wearing. There are special shoes you can buy made specifically for dancing, most of which have a suede sole, and I will put up a link for them in our links page. Sneakers are the hardest to dance in because the soft rubber sticks to the floor. It's better to have a hard rubber, or leather sole. And for women something with a back, no sandals!

Q: I don't have rhythm, can I still learn to dance?

A: Yes! Actually, everyone has rhythm even if they don't know it because your heart beats in a rhythm. What needs to be developed in people is timing to the music, and that can be done in just a few lessons.

Q: How much are your lessons?

A: We love that we are able to be up front with our prices without flashing a misleading introductory offer. No games or gimmicks, everyone pays the same. Click on LESSONS for our prices!

Q: Where can I dance?

A: There are many places to dance partner dancing in Jacksonville, and we'll be compiling a list shortly.

Q: Do I need a partner?

A: No, your instructor can act as your partner. We specialize in couples, but if you or a friend is single and wants to learn to dance, you can do that. We feel we have the best instruction for the price, and once you learn to dance, you can go anywhere. It's easy for good dancers to find partners.

Q: What kind of dancing do you teach?

A: We teach ballroom dance or partner dancing. Waltz, rumba, foxtrot, salsa, swing, and many more!
